Event Details

Throughout the centuries, pasta has evolved into a globally iconic food, widely celebrated for its supreme versatility. Despite its humble ingredients, pasta-making is rightfully considered a noble art. To many, Bologna is arguably Italy’s food capital and, on the city’s, surrounding hillsides lies Trattoria Amerigo 1934, the first Italian “trattoria” to ever receive the much sought-after Michelin star. Its pasta chef and “sfoglina” (an artisanal pasta master) will be traveling from Bologna to Los Angeles for a joint event at Rossoblu, which will include a live pasta-making demo and multi-course family style lunch with wine.

Located in Downtown LA’s historic City Market South, Rossoblu tells the story of the two places chef Steve Samson considers home: Los Angeles and Bologna. Rossoblu is an homage to Samson’s heritage, inspired by childhood memories of summers spent in Bologna and its surrounding region, Emilia Romagna. Hosting Trattoria Amerigo 1934 at Rossoblu is an honor, and will make for a truly unique culinary experience.

The event, organized by the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce West in partnership with Chef Steve Samson and his restaurant Rossoblu is part of the greater True Italian Taste campaign – a promotional and educational project conceived by the Italian Ministry of Economic Development, in collaboration with Assocamerestero.
