About Holbox
Since opening in 2017, Holbox has evolved beyond its initial offerings of ceviches and cócteles to, as Times food critic Bill Addison put it, “convey something essential about the pluralism of Los Angeles.” Chef Gilberto Cetina uses top-tier ingredients on his menu which celebrates both community and creativity in a way that’s quintessentially L.A. Holbox also appeared on this year’s 101 Best Restaurants in L.A.

About the Restaurant of the Year
For seven years and counting, Times food critic Bill Addison has selected a Restaurant of the Year to highlight as part of Food Bowl. Choosing the Restaurant of the Year goes beyond searching for L.A.’s most delicious food — the awarded restaurant must exhibit a sense of purpose and a place in the community. In short, the Restaurant of the Year is the future of L.A. dining.
